October Meeting Night
Book Fair Set Up
Friday October 13th

Instead of meeting at the Living and Learning Centre this month, we ask all members, regular and occasional,  to come and help us move the books from the dungeon under the library, up the back lane, to the Senior Citizens Hall.

We will start moving books from about 4:00 pm onwards, so any time from then on, we will welcome your attendance. Books will have to be unpacked and put on the tables in their various categories. We have 1,000s and 1,000s of books, so we have a big job ahead.

We with order Pizzas at about 7:00 pm to feed the mob and will have nibbles available all weekend. We will also have tea and coffee available at all times.

If you have a trolley, please bring that along to help move the boxes of books.

In the past we have used plastic bags for books, but we have started a collection of re-usable canvas and cloth bags, that are handed out by various shops, these days, in an effort to reduce our dependency on plastic bags. If you have an excess of these re-usable bags, can you please bring them down on Friday or Saturday.

We are sure to still need some plastic bags, so if you can bring some of those, that would help too.

We still need people on our roster to help during the day on Saturday, so if you have not put your name down for a particular time, could you please ring Beth.

We could do with more people during the day and particularly at pack up time from 7:30 pm.

Sunday, we need people with vehicles with a large capacity, to take the left over books out to the Recycling Depot out on Yan Yean Rd about 3 Km from the Hall.

Any queries, phone Beth--9439 1716. Let's see if we can make the $12,000 mark this year.

Annual General Meeting
Friday November 10th

The program for this night is still under consideration. Perhaps you might consider being part of the committee next year, to give some of the long standing committee members a rest.

None of the positions are onerous but they do give you a chance to be more involved with the organization.

Subscriptions of $10 can be paid on this night.

Eltham Festival
Sunday November 19th

We have applied for a stall at the Rotary Eltham Festival to sell Trade Winds tea and coffee and Oxfam Christmas cards but are awaiting confirmation.

December Meeting
Friday December 8th

We usually have a BBQ for our December meeting, but are open to other suggestions. Over to you.

Thanks to Steve Herbert's Office for photocopying.
