This Month's Meeting Friday March 12th Letter Writing Night
As we work as individuals and as a group, towards increasing the number of people who have a sustainable livelihood and can exercise their basic rights, it is sometimes easy to underestimate what impact even the smallest effort can have in achieving these goals. Letter writing and sending postcards to those in positions of authority and influence is an ongoing activity by many of us. For others of us, you may feel unsure how to go about this.
Our March meeting will focus on letter writing and sending postcards to politicians to raise their awareness of issues that are important to us. This is an opportunity to speak on behalf of those who don't get heard. Hand-written letters are generally more effective than computer generated ones. We will have on hand some paper, envelopes and pens.
Come along prepared with at least one issue that is important to you. Write down the main points you wish to make and remember to bring the correct name and address of those you are writing to! If you are a veteran at letter writing to politicians and decision makers, there will be the opportunity for you to share with the group what works and what doesn't. It will be a lot of fun!

This comedy takes a riotous look at small town English country life centred on competing funeral homes. Boris Plotz (Alfred Molina, Frida), Director of Plotz Funeral Homes, dreamed of only two things as a young boy... Dancing and Betty (Brenda Blethyn, Little Voice).
Betty secretly loved Boris, but could not fight her father's wishes, so she was married off to a gold digger. Boris gave up his dreams and took over the family's undertaking business.
Everything has remained status quo in their lives until Betty's mother-in-law dies. Boris and Betty are thrust together again and as they discuss the funeral arrangements for Betty's mother-in-law, the old spark is re-kindled. Her funeral will be held at Plotz Funeral Homes, much to the chagrin of rival funeral director, Frank Featherbed (Christopher Walken, Catch Me if You Can).
Featherbed, an American, is determined to revolutionise the undertaking business in England through the innovation of "theme" funerals. Plots with a View is a hysterically wacky comedy about rival undertakers in a small Welsh village; Astaire-Rodgers musical numbers, a haunted house, four funerals and a wedding!
