Speaker Yet To Be Determined
We are trying various avenues to find someone to talk to us on the plight of the Asylum Seekers and the issue of detention and detention centres. We have several irons in the fire, and you will just have to come along to the meeting to find out who will be speaking.
If we are unable to find a speaker, we will take the opportunity to make plans to lobby some of our new young politicians on these issues. We have already touched base with Julia Gillard and Nicola Roxon.
Winter Solstice Dinner
Our Winter Solstice Dinner was a huge success in every way. Many many thanks to all those who helped organise, prepare the hall, prepare the meal and special thanks to the big clean up brigade. The clean up brigade turned into a community singing group which helped pass the time as they labored away in the kitchen. The whole thing was a terrific team effort, so ably led by Ruth and Stephen. It was also great to have the assistance of so many newer members. Results … $2,500 profit ! Magnificent !

We have yet to determine with Andrew a specific topic for the night, so if you have a suggestion, let us know at the next meeting, otherwise we will ask him to speak about recent changes in Oxfam CAA, its place in Oxfam International and the Future of Oxfam CAA and it's groups.
This will be an important meeting for all the group. Its your opportunity to meet with Andrew and ply him with questions and ideas.

This film is receiving rave reviews and there have been some interesting articles about the making of the film in the daily press.
Please Ring Beth to reserve your ticket as soon as possible. Money can be paid at the July meeting. We need to take our own supper so, we ask people to bring a small plate of something tasty ! (Our previous film nights have produce real party suppers, which were much enjoyed).
