Topics for Discussion:

  • Walk Against Want
  • DVOCAA 40th Birthday
  • Volunteering for Trail Walker
  • Planning for meetings in 2003
  • Bookfair for 2004 ?

The February meeting will be a planning meeting, to discuss upcoming events and plan the years activities. If there is time members may like to write letters of protest to the media about the pending Iraqi war, as outlined in OCAA's latest Urgent Response bulletin. Guidelines will be provided.

Walk Against Want
Sunday February 23rd.

The Walk Against Want is almost upon us. The last thing that remains is to get walkers and sponsors. Any final matters should be cleared up at this meeting.

DVOCAA
40th Birthday Celebrations
Tuesday March 4th

The Diamond Valley Oxfam CAA celebrates its 40th Birthday on Tuesday March 4th at Montsalvat, 7pm. Admission will be $20 which includes wine and supper. Our two speakers will be David Scott, first national president of CAA and Rod Quantock, well known Melbourne comedian who will add a light touch to the evening.

Members who have been in the group some time, may be able to add names to the mailing list. Also do members think we should provide some musical entertainment for the night and if so, what genre ?
We will also be calling for volunteers to help with transporting local elderly former members should they require it. Any other suggestions will be welcome.

Beth Pender and Cathie Roby have both recently returned from Bangladesh on separate trips. Cathie went with a group of social work students from RMIT, and Beth with the Oxfam CAA Community Leadership Program.
