(Here Mighty
Comic No.74 & 75 - the first Australian versions.)
The comic on the left
above is where I started my love affair with the JSA. I must have
been all of 5 or 6 when my Mother allowed me to buy a pile of comics from
a local op shop. This one was in the pile. I was immediately
intrigued by the strange characters in the story and was hooked on the
JSA. Sadly whilst I still have that comic, the cover wore out many years
ago. Thanks to Mark Cannon for scanning his copy and helping me relive
those memories!
Now, the synopsis...
Transported to Earth-Two
during a previous battle with it's Flash & Green Lantern TO Morrow's
plots to plunder his new home. However his super computer informs
him that he will be stopped by the JSA unless he "revive" one of their
members, The Red Tornado as an accomplice. He contacts an android
"Red Tornado" that is programmed to assist the Society, yet ultimately
lead them to their defeat.
Morrow's plan comes
to fruition and he prepares to return to Earth-One and take on the JLA.
After successfully hatching a plan to defeat the League, the appearance
of Red Tornado ensures his ultimate defeat as the android revives the JLA
and then helps them to thwart Morrow. He then returns to Earth-Two
to revive the JSA who offer him membership in gratitude for his efforts.
