Four creatures from another universe taking the form of four Black Spheres land and merge with individuals from Earth-Two transforming them into super human beings with an evil nature.  The JSA, including new member, the adult Robin of Earth-Two set out to tackle these new "super villains".  Suffering a resounding defeat, Johnny Thunder sends his Thunderbolt to collect the JLA from Earth-One to assist the JSA, however they too have been battling a similar menace, without success.  Four heroes from the combined groups subject themselves to the Sphere's influence allowing their colleagues to combat them and try to isolate some weakness that can then use on the other victims.  Johnny Thunder's T-bolt then uses this weakness to blast the four villains and separated the Spheres from their bodies, returning them to normal and also destroying the Spheres.
