News update 26/11/02 Louise Pennington, 8 years old and lives in East Brighton, Melbourne, Victoria. The photo was taken during the interschools championships, on Burnt Hut Spur, Mt Buller. Louise ended up 116th out of 190 in her age group for the giant slalom. Well done Louise!!

News update 9/10/02 Our squad member of Australia Deaf Snowboard team, Dean Hecker has stepped down from the squad for the 2003 Winter Deaflympic Games in Sundsvall, Sweden due to a lack of financial support and assistance from the National sports body. There will be no Australian at the 2003 Winter Games but hopefully there are some talented people out there setting a goal for next Winter Deaflympic Games in 2007.
