Florence's storyFlorence is about twenty years old. She came to us while still suckling her foal, Gillian. We bought Florence for forty dollars at the stock auction. The only other bid was from the knacker.She was still feeding her foal and was starving, as the small amount of food she was getting was going to her foal. The vet told us she had borne many foals during her lifetime. |
| Florence settled well and quickly into the herd. She is a very
intelligent donkey. She can open latch gates, and always knows
exactly what’s happening in the herd. She knows when it's feeding
time, and is always first in the food queue. Florence loves her home at the shelter, and is a very happy, much-loved donkey now. |
