A popular and very rewarding event is Donkey Day, a hands-on day where members of the public have close contact with the donkeys. Participants are divided into small groups and, under the supervision of volunteers, groom the donkeys and prepare their vitamin bowls.
If you can't make one of these dates you can visit Donkey Shelter by appointment only on its Open Days - Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am to 2pm, excluding public holidays (free admission during these times).
