Our discussion of socialism aims to:

• examine its nature, looking particularly at the change in the system of ownership and how this impacts on life and society as a whole;

• show how it is superior to capitalism both as a society and as an economic system;

• defend it from its detractors;

• show how social and economic developments are creating the conditions it needs to thrive; and

• assess its future prospects.

It might seem presumptuous to call this The Socialism Web Site given the large number of sites that describe themselves as socialist or Marxist. However, I feel justified considering that virtually none of the latter provide any serious discussion of the subject. Odd? Well, yes. But then everything about "left" politics is totally odd.
