| Hi everyone, my name is Pauline and my husband’s name is Graham. In June 2000 we met Jedda for the first time, she was just 6 weeks old when we bought her home from Bruce Jacobs Dingo Farm at Chewton, Victoria. Our home is in the Blue Mountains NSW. |
| Her experiences might be that of no other Dingo experience. We own a Toyota Coaster Campervan and Jedda has travelled everywhere with us - approximately 55,000 kms. Of course her first adventure was travelling home. |

Her first long trip was in May 2002 when we enjoyed 3 months away seeing the Queensland Outback to Darwin and home via Sth Australia and Victoria.
In May 2003 we travelled with a group of friends to Birdsville, which took approximately 2 months…
When travelling, she likes to stand between the passenger and the driver's seat, it’s quite a safe area for her and she can see everything. We talk to her , “look Jedda, there’s some cows” she sniffs the air drifting through the vents…then sometimes she goes to the back of the campervan , jumps up on to our bed and looks through the window at the cows until they are out of sight. She then returns back to us… waiting to see more cows.. or sheep.. or horses… or emus. |
We enjoy bush camping and only use caravan parks when necessary. A lot of them don’t allow dogs anyway ! Her lead is 10 mtrs long, made of 3cm wide nylon tape, attached to a harness and choker chain, rather than a collar, this allows her to run and explore without us having the worry of her running away and not returning. It’s for her own protection really, so many people allow their dogs to run leash free and become a nuisance, and we don’t want anyone to say that our dingo was a problem. A lot of people ask “what type of dog is it” when we say she is a dingo, their reply is ”we thought so but didn’t like to say”. |

| After a walk and returning to our vehicle it’s time to continue down the road to look for somewhere to stay overnight. There are generally plenty of places and the following day begins with a short wee walk before breakfast. Then Graham will begin an approximate 2 km walk with Jedda whilst I pack the van for travelling, and warm up the motor, this generally takes ½ hr ,then I head down the road to pick them up. She loves this lifestyle and listens for the campervan to come and fetch her. |

We belong to a motorhome club which has large gatherings in different parts of Australia twice a year, otherwise known as Rallies. The attendance can be up to 800 motorhomes. She has become quite well known and enjoys socialising. She accepts ladies coming up to her and patting her on the head, but men must first hold their hand in front of her so she can determine whether they are allowed to say hello… we are always asking people not to approach her “ over her head” as she follows their hand, then they jump back and assume she is going to bite them. Young children nearly always identify her as a dingo and we hear the adults say “no it isn’t , excuse me, that’s not a dingo is it “ … sometimes an elderly person will want to say hello and after having a chat we tell them they have just patted a dingo – well, what a surprise !
The places she has seen and walked are many kilometres, too many to mention. She has educated lots of people and proved herself a good ambassador for the Dingo. |
We could write a book about this kid…we just might one day. She has a wonderful temperament. She is a mind reader. She shares our bed. She has us very well trained – I feed her, brush her, give her lots of serious body massages, Graham is the boss but he has to play ball and rough games in the back yard around 4pm daily. She is highly respected and we never trick her into a situation, she can trust us in whatever we say or do.

A test result from U.NSW - Dr Alan Wilton confirms that there are no dog genes - she is a pure dingo. We have just returned from Sydney after an appointment with a vet/herbalist, who was impressed with her diet and found her in good health after testing a urine sample.
