Exhibition at the Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance
Thursday 3 February to Monday 28 February 2005
The Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne will hold an exhibition of Darwin
Defenders material during February 2005.
This is the first time such an exhibition has been held. Members of Darwin
Defenders have generously contributed:
-
Photos of Darwin before and during the war
-
Stories from people who were there
-
Flags, keepsakes and other personal items
The Shrine has recently been extended and refurbished, and the Darwin
Defenders exhibition will be held in the remodelled gallery area.
The Darwin Defenders exhibition is professionally curated by Jean MacAuslan,
the Gallery Development Manager.
The Shrine attracts over 500,000 visitors a year, about 40 per cent
of whom are from overseas.
Volunteers needed
We need volunteers to help the Melbourne members of Darwin Defenders
staff the exhibition each day.
If you can spend some time at the Shrine during February, please contact
