"Both Meg and I would like to congratulate the SHOR group on the wonderful job they did in organizing our latest reunion. We have not ventured into that part of the country and we were impressed again with the ruggedness of the terrain. When you consider that the terrain must have been similar when our first settlers were exploring how daring and intrepid they were, no satellite navigation assistance but just a sextant and compass. I don't know if Bill Murphy has told you but I have volunteered to assist with the next reunion, I hope that we can maintain the standard that has been previously set. I have added a few snaps for your use. Regards and keep up the good work," - Meg and Terry Guyatt

"Hi Bill. I phoned Jim's son David and offered our condolences and excused ourselves from the funeral service as I was not feeling up to travelling, we had attended Judy's funeral. You made a great job of the memorium photo and message for the reunion of which Peter sent us a copy - well done. It brought back a lot of great memories. Cheers for now" - OD

"We have just arrived home after my follow-on Aircrew Re-union at Broadbeach. Please disseminate the following as you see fit: Congratulations to the SHOR Group plus all the others who helped to make the Tweed Re-union such a great event. We have been to the last three re-unions straight and honestly feel they seem to be getting better each time. We look forward to meeting up with you all again, hopefully, at 'Canberra 2012' ". - Harry and Norma Devery

Notice of the 2010 Reunion Organising Group and Preliminary Planning Advice
A group has formed in the Northern Rivers NSW/Southeast Queensland region this week for the purpose of conducting the next reunion of 7 RAAF Engineering Apprentices. The reunion will be based around the facilities of the Twin Towns Resort at Tweed Heads.
This venue will enable our group to be accommodated and meet socially.
The timing of the reunion is September/October 2010. The reunion will run for four nights including registration on the first night. A dinner will be held at the Twin Towns Club on the last night of the reunion. Direct communication by post, including details of accommodation and costs will commence soon.
The group intends to conduct a reunion along the lines of past successful Daffy reunions utilising the natural beauty of this part of our country and some highly regarded entertainment venues. Group members/advisors with local knowledge and connections will choose appropriate entertainment and sightseeing tours.
This region is known throughout Australia's Tourist Industry as 'The Green Caldera'. You may wish to remain in this delightful area for a longer period. Australian Tourism declared the region a Landscape of National Significance and dubbed it "Australia's Green Cauldron", under the National Landscape program, launched locally on 10 June, 2008.
Issued by Peter Henson on behalf of the 'Daffys on Tweed RAAF Apprentices Reunion 2010' 16th of May 2009.

"To kick off this forum I have some suggestions.
For our dinner night I would like to see more intermixing. No seating plans or groupies. I suggest tables of eight and four table-numbered tickets for each table, one to be drawn from 'the hat' by each couple, or single on entering - singles can form couples if they like, and put a ticket back. There will be some spare seats at some tables but they can serve as 'mingling' seats for after dinner.
Let there be more room (or pool) parties. Come prepared to share.
Let there be music everywhere. Try and arrange a dinner and show night - good old 1950's R&R.
Bill Arden"
