Lest We Forget

The sun welcomed us at the Tweed Heads Crematorium Gardens on Thursday 9th July for a farewell to our old mate Ian Fairley, B.E.M.
Father John Darbyshire from the local catholic diocese conducted a simple dignified service with appropriate readings from Ecclesiastes, Apocalypse and John.
Graeme Malone, a member of 5 Intake RAAF Engineering Apprentices spoke, as did Alan Jeffry, a friend from Ian's days in civil aviation.
Peter Henson spoke on behalf of 7 Intake and enlightened the gathering regarding some of the activities of apprentices during their period of time spent at Forest Hill.
John and Heather O'Donnell, Jack and Carol Ransom, Brian Sheahan and Bev Henson also attended, representing the Daffodils.
Refreshments were served at the Cobaki Village Hall after the service. Jeanette and Ian's family were well pleased with the celebration of Ian's life. A floral tribute was presented on behalf of 7 Intake RAAF Engineering Apprentices.

'R.I.P'. Old Mate.
