Choosing & Using Technologies in Education & Training
This checklist is intended to help you plan by identifying questions you should ask yourself and information you should acquire as part of your planning process.
The organisation should identify how the project relates to its own strategic goals and position.
| SUCCESS FACTORS | CHECKLIST |
|---|---|
| 1. The relationship of the project to the organisations strategic plan has been identified and documented. | 1.1 How does the project
relate to your organisations objectives as
identified in its strategic plan? (e.g. will it
provide education to new target groups, expand your
organisations market share, enhance your reputation
as a lead agency in a particular technology or course
discipline area, etc).
1.2 How will you document this relationship? |
| 2. The benefits which should accrue to the organisation (as opposed to learners or other clients) have been identified and documented. | 2.1 If the project is successful, in
what ways will the organisation benefit?
2.2 To what extent will the organisational benefits be made public in any material describing the project? (e.g. in publicity material, reports to funding bodies, communications with other stakeholders). 2.3 Can any industry development potential be identified which may make the project attractive to your organisations Council or Board or other significant bodies? How can you ascertain this? |
| SUCCESS FACTORS | CHECKLIST |
| 3. The links between the organisations objectives and the needs of other stakeholders have been identified. | 3.1 Can these links be identified
during assessment of stakeholders needs as
discussed in Principle 1?
3.2 How will you document them? 3.3 If there is any disharmony between your organisations objectives and those of other stakeholders, how will you strike a balance? |
| 4. Likely champions or champion groups within the organisation have been identified. | 4.1 What champions or champion groups
exist which may help to enlist or increase support for
the project? (e.g. student bodies, local industry,
ITABs, community associations).
4.2 If no likely champion groups exist at present, how can they be formed so as to have the best results? (e.g. consultative groups of potential learners or employers of potential learners). |
