The Centre for Creative Ministries is an agency of the St George's East St Kilda Uniting Church. It originated in 1991 and occupies the former Congregational church on the corner of Hotham and Inkerman Streets, East St Kilda.

The Centre brings together spirituality, the arts and community service through programs which explore creativity, personal development and social welfare.

Current programs include innovative worship, meditation, workshops on many different subjects, heritage activities, musical and dramatic performances, programs for people with disabilities, and the development of a garden.

The Centre is inspired by Christian ideals of worship, hospitality and service to provide an open, tolerant ecumenical space in which many different spiritualities can meet and mingle. Our programs are open to all people regardless of race, gender or religion.

Innovative Worship: At the heart of the Centre’s work is its program of innovative worship which typically involves the arts and has included singers, dancers, popular and classical musicians, clowns, puppeteers, actors, storytellers and visual artists. Once a month there is a service in the style of Taize.

Meditation is held every Thursday evening.

Workshops are hosted which cover a wide variety of adult education and recreational activities focusing on the arts, healing and personal development.

Exhibitions of works exploring a spiritual dimension in the visual arts are held from time to time.

Community Service programs for people with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities include art therapy, theatre, movement and social and survival skills.

Performance events of classical, folk and new music, and theatrical performances ranging from Medieval mystery plays to contemporary drama are hosted.
