Radio Waves - MM Issue 1059 - 8th August 2002

Goodbye Larry

Not Larry! I wonder how many other people thought that when they heard the sad news.
Larry Corrie has been part and parcel of 3MGB since its very inception. Test transmissions, the earliest days of the fledgling 3MGB, the arrival of ComRadSat, 24-hour broadcasting and the move to our new studios, Larry was there. Presenters Meetings and social get-togethers, Larry was there. Op Shop Pop, Snap Crackle And Pop, just some of Larry's shows. Larry bought to his programs a great pride in Australian Rock Music of the 60's and 70's. A pride matched only by his encyclopedic knowledge of the period, no wonder the Genoa table always did so well at our Trivia Nights. In recent years, the growing influence of his children expanded the mix.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Chris, Naomi and Joel.

We are stardust, we are golden.
And we've got to get ourselves back to the garden
