Rhonda's Letter - Mallacoota Mouth Issue 1040
Dear Ed,
I am writing this to say goodbye for a bit and thanks to all the people in Mallacoota I didn't get to see before I went who I have known while we were here and didn't get a chance to say goodbye to. (That sentence is why I will never make it as a writer).
My six years here have been extremely eventful but overall great. I have had the opportunity to do things I've never done before, and wouldn't have believed I could (3MGB leaps to mind here) but have loved and grown from. We are all going to try living in Canberra for a bit, but Mallacoota is still where I consider my home to be — and in fact, as far as we the actual building goes, is. Canberra is a satellite suburb of Mallacoota as far as we are concerned. I was listening absent mindedly to Canberra's version of community radio (a poor imitation) and caught myself thinking at one stage — there's Ken on, and another time I could have sworn I heard Sue Chapman. We are definitely better in terms of presenters and music, and sheer entertainment value. I am not going to list the faces in my mind, only because I know I will spend next week thinking, oh no, I didn't mention.... and ......!!! but you all know who you are.
We will be coming back on the odd weekend, become one of those de-facto, part-time Mallacoota people I used to feel slightly beneath the full-timers, so hopefully I'll see you then.
                See you soon
      Rhonda, Chris and Cathy Cotsell.
