    Race

    Our Fan Guest of Honour is long time fan, Race Mathews. Race is a fanzine editor and timebinder, as well as an author (of non-SF). He was a co-founder of the Melbourne Science Fiction Group in the early 1950s and he attended the first Australian science fiction Convention held, in 1952. He is a former federal and state member of parliament, State Government minister, and is also the author of several books and articles on Australian socio-political issues.
