Current Projects

  1. Completion of a book in recognition of the year of the older person. Residents at a local retirement accommodation place, Ottrey Lodge, were interviewed and stories and photographs are being put together.  THIS HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!!

  2. Recording of the Numurkah cemetery records onto computer disc to enable quicker research is being undertaken by some of our members.  COMPLETED!

  3.  In the year 2002 we hope to be able to re-index and computerise all the records for the Tocumwal cemetery, NSW. We also would like to collect and make available to researchers other local cemeteries. COMPLETED! Now Working on Publishing a Book and CD of information collected on this cemetery.

  4. Our publication on local pioneer families around Cobram prior to 1900 "In the Days of the Punt" is now back in print and is available for $20.00.  Click here for a list of the Surnames covered in this publication. We are now planning on scanning the old book to republish and provide a digital copy on CD. We are also planning on producing another Volume of histories of local pioneer families with particular emphasis on the large Italian community in the Cobram district. This will be worked on over 2007 with hopeful publication 2008.

  5. Indexing of Card Indexes includes local schools across the district, local cemeteries such as Barooga, Katamatite and some other smaller cemeteries, Rate records and some Newspaper indexes. COMPLETED!

  6. Publishing booklets and CD's on local cemetery headstones. Barooga, NSW the first one we are working on for 2005. COMPLETED! Click here to see information about purchasing a book and an index to surnames in the Barooga Cemetery.

  7. Moira Shire School Records: Our Secretary Barbara Coleman is attempting to collect any records or photos relating to schools that were or still are in the Moira Shire. She has collected quite a lot of information so far and indexed what she has so far. Nicole Close has put this together on a web based CD. Barbara is still keen to collect any information, records or photos of schools in the area, so if you can help please contact her or Nicole. (See contact details on Home Page)
