LDS Film Information

We have recently become a licensed film centre for the LDS. You will find below the information needed to find, order and access LDS film records.

HOW DO I FIND FILM NUMBERS?

Go to the LDS Family Search website  and go to the Family History Library Catalogue Link. Here you can search the library catalogue and find the film number for a variety of records available from the LDS such as Census and Parish records.

If you do not have a computer we have in the "Old School" the library catalogue on CD, you will need to look at this on the main computer in the cupboard.   It gives you the opportunity to search by name, place, keyword etc.   If you go to keyword and type in parish records Norfolk it will show you what is available.

A place search for Norfolk, Thetford would list records for those areas.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?

What does it cost - It will cost you $5 to have a film for a month and $7 for 120 days, if you go over any of those times you will be required to pay $2 extension time.

There will be no leniency allowed on the above payment as the group will be required to pay the above stated fees to the Latter Days Saints.   There is no profit for the group from those funds.

Members will be advised by email when their film arrives, those without email should supply a stamped self addressed envelope.

Don't forget Members are able to go seven days a week if they wish to look at films.

The above is for members only!!

Non members will be able to hire films at the same costs, but we would expect a donation, we are not permitted to charge.   Non members will be expected to provide a stamped self addressed envelope or an email address so that I can advise when their film arrives.

There will be two films readers available, so if there are too many orders at one time a roster will be set up.

We home to have access to a Film Reader/Printer through the kindness of the Historical Society. A small fee for printing will be charged.
