Club speaking awards

Rostrum allows members to compete for a number of awards during the year.

Mac Wallace Award

The award is to be presented to the committee member of Rostrum Club 6 who makes the greater contribution to the running of the club during the year. Consideration is to be given to all committee roles and in particular committee members who have contributed more than their roles required. The award is to be presented at the end of each calendar year by the President or his/her nominee.

The recipient of the award is to be decided by the President in consultation with individual committee members to determine a suitable recipient, based upon the view of the majority of the committee.

The award consists of a gold plated (cup) trophy and a book voucher initially to the value of $50. The trophy will be inscribed with the winner’s name, the cost of which will be met by Rostrum Club 6. The value of the book voucher is to be reviewed by the committee from time to time and increased to reflect the cost of purchasing a suitable book by the recipient.

Jill Ebbot memorial award

Jill Ebbot was a member of Club 6 who died tragically in an Accident. To honour Jill a perpetual award is presented to the member judged to have made the most significant contribution to Rostrum ideals within the Club during the year.

Presidents' cup

The President's Cup is awarded at the end of each term to the speaker who, in the President's opinion, gives the memorable speech of the term.
