Clockwork!
Habitat and it's intricate ecocommunity 
Are not unlike the cogs and springs, 
Levers and spindles of an 
old fashioned clock. 
Ticking away reliably ever since 
forever. 
Each and every one 
of those cogs and levers 
depends on the other. 
Should a speck of weed 
Or pollutant or blue green algae or 
cleared habitat 
or 
feral animal or 
unsustainable development or chemical spill 
or smog, 
Collect on the wrong spindle 
or cog 
Time slows down,
And for habitat?
