Chemical incidents in 1992




March
Six men were rushed to the Western Hospital after being overcome by carbon monoxide gas at Louis Dreyfus Meats in Mc Donald Road Brooklyn. Another six were treated for symptoms ranging from dizziness to nose-bleeds.
August
Laverton Chemical company Chemplax Manufacturing fined $1250 and ordered to pay $677 in costs in Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court after being found guilty on a charge of air pollution on August 27 1991
September
Leak of Hydrogen Sulphide into the air from Albright and Wilson's Nissan plant on the Maribyrnong because of a failure in a pump. Reported to EPA and plant shut down for one night. Further action promised.
