DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: To provide an opportunity for women to develop their choral skills in a friendly and supportive environment; to perform at appropriate functions and events; to further members' and non-members' musical appreciation; to produce choral music at a high standard

Choir performs: Both accompanied & unaccompanied

Musical Repertoire: The choir sings a wide variety of sacred and secular music, including spirituals, madrigals, and contemporary works

Musical Director: Noel Ancell

No. of years in current post: since 2008

Previous musical experience: MA, BMus(Hons), BEd, FTCL, MACE; Noel is the current Artist Director, is well-known throughout Australia and internationally as a conductor, composer and teacher

Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: Joint concerts with Grainger Wind Ensemble, The Vocal Consort, and Aspiration in Harmony

 

JOINING REQUIREMENTS

Audition:Yes - sing a prepared piece; ear tests (approx Grade 4 AMEB)

Minimum Attendance policy - Rehearsals: No Concerts: Yes

Membership Fees: $90 per term

Ability to read music: Essential

Sight-reading ability: Highly desirable
