DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: To enrich the worship of the St Paul's Cathedral congregation and its many visitors; the Choir has become an accomplished exponent of the English choral tradition

Previous musical experience: One of Australia's best known organists, choir trainers and composers; post graduate study in London; winner of the Australian National Organ Competition; on teaching staff of Melbourne University's School of Music; has given numerous recitals at the Cathedral, Melbourne Town Hall and Westminster Abbey; played with Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras; Member (AM) in the General Division in the Queen's Birthday Honours (1998) for services to church music; the Lambeth Degree, Doctor of Music (Cantuar) conferred on her in 1999 by the Archbishop of Canterbury

Audition: Yes: Men - ability to read music and general attitude; Boys - musical ear, intelligence and general attitude

Minimum Attendance policy - Rehearsals: Yes Concerts: n/a

Membership Fees: none; Choral scholarships available for men; boys receive scholarships to an Anglican school

Ability to read music: Essential

Sight-reading ability: Essential
