Vision statement / Artistic goals: A community-based choir dedicated to the highest performance standards; to extend the experience of amateur singers and present a variety of works, including lesser-known works by well-known composers

Previous musical experience: Yanna Talpis is a highly experienced conductor, concert pianist, vocal coach, chamber musician and teacher; she has Master of Music degrees from the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow (Piano Performance and Conducting) and The University of Melbourne (Conducting) where she studied under Professor John Hopkins OBE; she has performed in Russia, New Zealand and Australia, with major Symphony Orchestras and Choirs in Moscow, Melbourne, Sydney and Wellington, and she conducted the world premiere of Australian composer Christopher Willcock's Akhmatova Requiem for the City of Melbourne; Yanna continues her involvement with Conducting Schools internationally
Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: Whitehorse Orchestra, Waverley Concert Band, Concordis at PLC's Porgy and Bess, Faye Dumont's choirs and others by invitation for "Sing Christmas" in 2000, Box Hill Chorale's Requiem Mass 2003, Maroondah Symphony Orchestra, Yarra Valley Singers and Cecilian Singers' Messiah 2003, Shakespeare on the River Festival Stratford

Membership Fees: $40 p.a. ($35 conc.) plus rehearsal fees $50 ($40 conc.) 3 times per year with a discount for 12 months payment or $5 per night casual rate; $20 library deposit
