Vision statement / Artistic goals: A fun group of people who come together once a week to sing; they enjoy performing a varied repertoire; choregraphy/movement is a big part of performances

Musical Repertoire: Very varied - pop, jazz, African, gospel, folk, bit of classical - both simple and complex songs and arrangements

Previous musical experience: Studied music in New Zealand; plays saxophone and clarinet; started singing with Tongue & Groove choir in 1998, then took over as MD; arranges songs for this Choir and for other groups

Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: The Choir has combined with other community groups in the St Kilda East area for past performances

JOINING REQUIREMENTS

Audition: Yes - a simple audition to establish that people can pitch notes and sing a melody; previous experience in choirs very desirable

Membership Fees: $15/week, paid by the term

Ability to read music: Desirable

Sight-reading ability: Not necessary
