DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: The choir is a non-profit organisation formed by people who enjoy singing; the choir also arranges fundraising performances for other groups

Voice type: SATB

Choir performs: Both unaccompanied & accompanied

Year Choir formed: 1968

No. of Singing Members - Currently: 75 Desired: 80+

Musical Repertoire: Middle-of-the-road music - evergreens, music from shows, modern numbers, sacred music if required

Musical Director: Jules Cseszko

No. of years in current post: since 2009

Previous musical experience: Jules has extensive experience as both a choral and orchestral conductor internationally and in Victoria; he studied under John Hopkins OBE for a Master's degree in Conducting at the University of Melbourne, and as a Research Trainee he conducted the Melbourne University Orchestra on numerous occasions; Jules has a passion for tutoring and has directed many youth orchestras and choirs from primary to undergraduate, and he has been engaged by several community orchestras and choirs, most recently Mornington Peninsula Chorale and the Monash Chorale; Jules plans to extend his links with choral music in USA with a conducting tour in 2009
