| Stop the Prime Minister making the latest
batch of VW Beetles the official right wing fleet. Parliament House, 2 o'clock
sharp. Everybody was waiting to hear the Prime Minister's important secret
announcement. Then it came. "Fellow Parliamentarians, Mr Speaker, I have
it! It came to me in a dream last night. As you all know, our official fleet
is out of date. I propose, for the good of all parliamentarians, to introduce
VW Beetles as the official car for the parliamentary fleet." What followed
was simply an outbreak of boos and plenty of cheers from the Labor and Liberal
parties respectively. Volkswagen was originally built in Germany as the
"people's car". The unofficial official fascist, Nazi car. In the '60's,
all the young hippies, deeply into flower power and no shoes, converted
the beetle into ultra left wing. Beetles stayed left wing for thirty years
and now Johnny wants to change that. We understand that there is a lot of
sentiment involved and we should restore Beetles to their original wing,
but fascism and the like are not as popular as they used to be. Would you
sit back and let your Beetle become a fascist, dictatorship-loving icon?
Left wing...right wing...left wing... right wing...It's up to you!
