The club now has a broadband Internet connection. Members are welcome to use it at the rate of $2 per session. There are currently five computers connected to the Internet.


2005 Masters

This was a 9 round robin held in July/August 2005. First place went to FM Jessie Sales, while second place went to IM Peter Froehlich and third place went to IM Guy West. Jessie Sales earned an IM norm.


A number of members participated in the 2005 Australian Open, which was held at Mt. Buller. On the night up it actually snowed. Life member GM Daryl Johansen came =3rd on 8/11, while Domavoy Dragievic, Ascori Pecori and FM Bill Jordan came =5th on 7.5/11.


The Junior club with Nick Speck on Saturday mornings is currently very successful.


MCC BookStore

The bookshop has chess sets, boards and new and secondhand books in stock.


2004 Masters

This was held from Tuesday 3rd August to Saturday 14th August 2004
First place went to IM David Smerdon, while second place went to GM Daryl Johansen.

This was the first event at the MCC to be broadcast live to the internet. More information on the Masters is at Gary Bekkers site


2004 Fide World Championship

Also life member Daryl Johansen recently represented Australia in the world championship in Libya, but was eliminated by super-GM Gurevich.
