Certificate II in Community Services Work - Children’s Services Stream (CHC20202)

Tuesdays, during school hours - February to November.  (code V01) 
$492.50 or $130 conc.  (ACFE funded)
Gain the basic knowledge and skills needed to assist higher qualified staff in the care of pre-school aged children.  ACFE funded.   Conducted in partnership with Chisholm Institute (certification provided by Chisholm). 

 

Aged Care Work Course

Wednesdays during school hours - starting date to be advised.  (code V02)
$140 or $90 conc. (ACFE funded)
This course gives participants components in Aged Care Work.  Units are from the Certificate II in Community Services - Aged Care Work (CHC20499).  Conducted in partnership with Wallara Australia Training Services.  Contact us for more details.

 

Cert.IV in Assessment & Workplace Training (BSZ40198)

Monday 9.30am - 3pm, 15 weeks, starting with a 2 hour Induction Session 1st March (code V03)
Cost $370or $210 concession (ACFE funded)
This qualification is mandatory for those teaching and/or assessing nationally accredited training.  The Certificate IV level provides participants with the skills necessary: to plan, promote, deliver and review training programs and sessions within their field of expertise; to plan, conduct and review the assessment of students in accredited courses, within a variety of settings. Train Small Groups & Deliver Trainings Sessions 

Monday 9.30am - 3pm, 6 weeks starting 15th March.  (code V04)
Cost $130 (ACFE funded)  
Two units from the nationally accredited course Cert. IV in Assessment & Workplace Training (BSZ404A & BSZ 407A).  Appropriate for a person who plans, delivers and reviews training for individuals, one-to-one or for small groups, in the workplace or other learning situations.  Gain an understanding of how learning occurs and how to apply that information in a variety of situations.  (no cost if enrolled in full course)  Cost includes all course notes and resources.  Tutor: LLa’Rah Star.

 

Food Safety for Food Handlers- Level 1 (THHGHS01) 
Times and dates to be confirmed.  (code V05)

Cost: $80
Essential for those involved in handling, preparing and serving food.  This nationally accredited unit includes: food safety, handling, storage, food poisoning, personal hygiene, cross contamination, waste disposal, pest control.  Cost includes student workbook.  

 

Personal & Home Budgeting

Wednesday 9.30 am – 11.30 am 17 to 31st March.  (code F01)
Cost: $48 per person (or $58 per couple)

This course aims to show you how to match your lifestyle with your income and how to preparea budget for your home.  Computer knowledge is desirable but not essential.  Day or evening timeslots, each group runs for 3 weeks.  Facilitator: Bill Holmes CPA.

 Basic Computer & Communication Skills 

Friday 10am - 12 noon.  (code L01)
$25 per term  (ACFE funded)
This course helps develop reading and writing skills through the use of computers.  Learn the basics of computer use: mouse skills, using the keyboard, how to create and save files, use the internet to find information and communicate.  Tutor: Saras Govender  

 

 Auslan – Levels 1 & 2

Friday 9.30 am - 12 noon, 15 weeks (code G01)
$90 (ACFE funded)
Learn the sign language skills necessary for day to day communication with the Deaf.  Students have the opportunity of building their confidence by relating to a Deaf teacher.  This course covers both levels 1 & 2 and will give students an understanding of Deaf language culture.  Tutor: Lorette Baker

 

 Job Seeking Skills

Time/Day can be arranged at a time to suit.  (code G02)
Cost: $20 
Use the internet to upgrade your skills with our online course in resume writing, job applications and interview skills.  This is a self paced  learning option.
