Active Mind and Body

Walk &Talk Group

Every Tuesday 9.30 am to 11 am
$2 includes tea/coffee, biscuit.
Walking in a group is an economical, safe, fun way to exercise.  Suitable for all fitness levels.  Wear comfortable walking shoes and suitable clothing.  Don't forget the sunscreen, water bottle and sun hat.  This group meets weekly.  Please phone 9776 1386 to book your place.  Facilitator: Dot Clarke.

 

Yoga

Tuesday 1.30 pm - 3 pm, during school terms
$40 per term (8 weeks)
Discover why doctors are recommending Yoga to relieve stress, stiffness, insomnia, depression etc.  Through the practice of gentle exercise and breathing techniques - attitudes of wellness, confidence and calmness gradually become the natural way of life.  Secure your place with a $10 deposit, full fees payable 14 days prior to commencement date.  Instructor: Dori Grinlington.

 

Creative Writers Group

Every Thursday 1 pm-3 pm during school terms
$2 per week
All wordsmiths welcome to "create" in an informal. friendly atmosphere.  Please bring a pen and two notebooks - one to create and "ideas book".  Please phone 9776 1386 to book your place.  Facilitator: Pat Keating

 

Aromatherapy

Every Thursday 1.30 pm-3 pm
$7 per session
Enjoy the relaxation and feeling of well being that comes with aromatherapy.  This group is suitable for anyone.  People with disabilities are especially welcome.  A joint program with Wesley Disability Support.  For enquires and bookings please phone Rea on 9776 1277.  

 

Games Group

Every Friday 1.30 pm -3.30 pm during school terms
$3 per week
Games, fun and participation. Especially suitable for ABI clients.  Bookings essential, please phone 9776 1386.  Facilitator: Coral Davis.

 

Chelsea PC Users Social Group

First Saturday each month, 1 pm - 4 pm.
$3 per session
A group for all ages that meets monthly to share knowledge, ideas, enthusiasm. and problem solve their use of computers.   Please bring notepad, pencil for taking down notes.  Please phone 9776 1386 to book your place.  Facilitator: Rojer Liberman.

Men's Activity Program

Wednesday 5.30pm-9.30pm
A group aimed at socially isolated younger men needing support after injury or illness.   Places are limited and will be allocated according to need.   For enquires and bookings please phone Rea on 9776 1277.  A joint program with Wesley Disability Support, Southern Region.  Participants will need to have access to adequate support funding.

 

Community Lunch

Every Thursday 12 noon during school terms
Community lunch available each week for members, staff and participants.  Places are limited and bookings are required by the Tuesday prior if you wish to secure a place.  Group bookings to be made one week in advance please.  Enquiries and bookings: 9776 1386. 

 

Al-Anon Family Group

Tuesday 8 pm.
(by donation)
Fellowship for families and friends of alcoholics.  Weekly meetings   Contact: Mary - 9786 6023, 9750 5295. 

 

Broadway Art Group

Wednesday 1 pm-3 pm
Non-tutorial group meeting as friends to pursue art as a hobby.  BYO art supplies.

Being Creative

Woodwork for All

Mondays 1.30 pm-3.30 pm or 5 pm-7 pm
$6 -includes materials, (ACFE funded)
Would you like to learn the basics of woodwork and develop your numeracy skills?  Suitable for anyone who would like to join.  People with disabilities are especially welcome. Pottery Drop-In

Every Wednesday 10 am - 12 noon, during school terms
$6 per session
Make your own individual pottery pieces with a friendly, informal group.  All welcome.  Weekly cost includes clay and glaze (firing extra at a reasonable cost).    Please phone 9776 1386 to book your place.  Group leader: Lois Taylor

 

Community Craft Morning

Thursday 10am-12noon during school terms
Cost: $3 per session (plus materials cost of $5 per week)
Come along to our friendly group and learn a new craft.   Please bring basic sewing requirements, needles and thread, pen, pencil, ruler.   Followed by Community Lunch at 12 noon.   All welcome.  Please book ahead, on 9776 1386, so that craft materials can be arranged for you.  Facilitator: Sallie Inwood.

Occasional Care (Take a Break)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9.30am-12.30pm
$8 for one child, $12 for 2 children & $15 for three. 
Longbeach PLACE is a registered Class 2 Child Care Centre.  
Take time out to care for yourself, have a break, do your shopping in peace, attend those appointments knowing your child is safe, happy and learning through play. 
This service is available to all families in the general community.  Our reasonable prices and caring staff provide a convenient option for those attending our classes.  Bookings essential on 9776 1386.  Cost for 2 and 3 children applies to children from the same family.

 

3 Year Old Pre-Kinder

Wednesdays 9.15am-11.45am, school terms
$65 per term or $8 per week (casual).
Let your child "learn through play"  in our friendly, encouraging environment.  Developmentally appropriate programs designed for individual children.  Note: permanent bookings are preferred.  Please phone 9776 1386.
