21st Annual Seminar

"LOCAL EMERGENCIES"
Multi Agency involvement

New Format Saturday 27th November, 1999 One Day Only

For this, our 21st Seminar we will try a new format, a one day presentation. We have selectedthe very important and topical subject of 'Local Emergencies' we will address the roles & responcibilities of municipalities and their various support groups dovetailing them with the Emergency services roles in managing Local Emergencies. This most important reltionship which must develope and sregthen will be addressed at length and will be of interest to municipaliuties, Emergency Services, the Corporate Sector and to personnel of the numerous support agencies.
Many of the papers to be presented follow suggestions from interested groups and personnel, they include:-
  • Local Emergencies
  • Petrochemical Plant Disaster Management
  • Floods, comparing N.S.W.. QLD & Victorian Events-Differing Management
  • Ilicit Drug Factory Incidents - Volunteers Involvement.
  • Disaster Victim Identification. (DVI)
  • Millenium Bug - Y2K - An Emergency Service Viewpoint with one month to go.
  • At the end of the day's program we will provide the usual facility for convivial discussion winding up with a barbecue. Overnight accomodation will be available Friday & Saturday Night. Because of increased costs associated with presenting the seminar, the Registration Fee for the Saturday only Seminar which includes Morning & Afternoon Tea, Lunch, Speakers Notes and convivial's has increased slightly on previous years, which is regretable.
    We are limited to 200 attendees so this early notification will enable you to plan well ahead. Further details of the Seminar will be circulated when the programme is finalised - mark your diary now - Saturday November 27th 1999. Give a thought to Co-sponsoring two or more representatives to the seminar who can then "do the rounds".
