Christ Church has a magnificent Lady Chapel. Dedicated at Festal Evensong on 6 February 1929, it can be said that the chapel is an outstanding example, with its traditional altar, hung with dorsal and riddel curtains, with four riddel posts surmounted by angelic figures with tapers. The figure of the crucifix was handcarved at Oberammergau, Bavaria.
Here is said the daily Mass on all but Sunday. It is also where Confessions are made.
The Saturday Mass is normally said in honour of Our Lady.
| Hail, Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. |
