Christians for Biblical Equality

Welcome to the CBE Melbourne website

What exactly is Christians for Biblical Equality?

CBE is a non-profit Christian organisation for men and women that promotes a biblical basis for gift-based, rather than gender-based, service for men and women of all races, ages and economic classes. Our theology and membership is largely evangelical and we cross denominational lines.

CBE Melbourne

A Melbourne chapter of CBE was launched on October 24, 2005 with the following mission statement:
"To assist men and women to explore fullness of life in Christ, including the transformation of relationships in the personal and corporate realm, enabling all to minister and receive ministry that transcends race, gender and social standing."

The Board of reference of CBE Melbourne is made up of prominent Australian Evangelicals who endorse the aims of the group.

Events

Regular gatherings, "Equal Servings" are held to explore what Biblical Equality means in the lives of men and women around Melbourne. Usually centred around a shared brunch, these gatherings provide a space for those sure of what they believe about gender equality and those who are not so sure, to talk freely.

Next gathering: TBA
