Acacia pycnantha - Golden
Wattle

Australia's floral emblem grows naturally in Victoria NSW and
SA. An erect or spreading shrub or small tree with bright green
leathery phyllodes. Through winter to spring racemes of perfumed
golden balls
make pycnantha 'Aussies' pride and joy.
Pycnantha's botanical name is derived from the Greek pycnos
(meaning close, thick, crowded) and anthos (flower). It alludes
to the compact flower heads that characteristically contain many
densely-arranged flowers.
The seed pod contains approximately 8 seeds. Propagation is by
seed or cuttings.
