My mum thought I was a pain sometimes. I would tease my sister. I would take her dolls and hide them.

I had three brothers and two sisters and two of my brothers went to school with me and one went to a different school. I went to kinder then on to primary school. I was there for six years, then I went to high school.

I stayed at high school for a few years, but I didn’t like school. I couldn’t do the work and the teacher used to make fun of me.

What I did like were the days we had wood work, sheet metal, motor mechanics, and engineer workshop.

I am good with my hands. I have used these skills to make a lot of things (cabinets) and helped to build houses.

I did not play much sport. I would kick a football around a bit . I played baseball a while with my brother but that was about it

I left school and started working when I was 16. The first job I had was at Four’n Twenty. It was fairly easy. I had that job for about 5 years. Then my dad got me a job working with him. Mostly I worked night shift.
