About Carlton Primary School

Carlton Primary School

Located at the corner of Drummond and Palmerston streets, Carlton Primary is a community focused school, with a relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We take pride in being a multicultural school, learning from each other, as well as from our teachers. The whole family is welcome at Carlton Primary, and we encourage parents’ participation in classrooms, on school council, and as part of special events and excursions. We work closely with our local community to foster community links, creating the best opportunities for our students. Local community organisations are frequently involved in events at the school, such as tree planting days, the harvest festival and Harmony Day.

Our school values are:

Achievement

Relationships

Respect

Diversity

The Carlton Primary Community Learning Hub is a project focused on using the school as a community facility.

The school hosts a variety of users accessing a range of lifelong learning opportunities including:

  • Homework Club
  • Women’s sewing groups
  • Playgroups
  • Parenting groups
  • Men’s groups

The school also hosts a catering enterprise run by Adult Multicultural Education Services – the Sorghum Sisters

The school sees approximately 200 users each week across all the programs. The school is also open and available to the community for more informal, social events, which help to cement community relations and enhance connectedness to community.
