A threat is a danger which has the potential to harm or destroy. Our daily activities and way of life pose a number of threats to the health of our natural environment. Sometimes we contribute to these threats unknowingly. Other times we might know what we are doing is wrong, but choose to ignore our contribution, or are unaware of the eventual results. In the end, we all have a role to play.....

There are a number of threats facing the BFFR, and some of these continue beyond the reserve to threaten the wider local environment. Some of these threats include weeds, pest animals (foxes, rabbits, cats), pollution, litter and inappropriate use by visitors (motor bike riding, horse riding off designated tracks, trampling vegetation etc.) Ultimately the threats all come from US in some way, and there are two people who can act on them to protect the local environment...... YOU and ME!!!
