Imagine looking up to the sky on a clear, still morning. Above you glides a huge Wedge-tailed Eagle, enormous in size but not making a sound as it soars in search of food. You dont have to go to Healesville Sanctuary or for a long drive into the country to see such sights... you can see many wild wonders at Cardinia Creek in suburban Beaconsfield, a forty minute drive south-east of Melbourne. In the midst of the urban sprawl, nature flourishes!

The Cardinia Creek flows from the Dandenong Ranges, through the Cardinia Creek valley and floodplains to Westernport Bay. Its a beautiful place to live or visit. This page provides information on why this place is so special.

Enjoy what we have and remember to do your bit to care for Cardinia, so that we always get to see our wildlife, in the wild, in our backyards....
