The rate of infant circumcision in the Australian State of Queensland, is 20%, much higher than all other states. There is one doctor there who states he has done more than 10,000 circumcisions in the last few years. He has possibly done more to contribute to the high rate there than anyone else.

Since the official position and that most doctors no longer support routine infant circumcison, a vacumn has been created. He is happy to do circumcisions for any reason. He appeals to the prejudice and ignorance of parents, and claims much greater possible benefits than is normal for a doctor, ignoring the line that routine circumcision is not recommended.

His fee seems to be about $250 or $300. Multiply that by 10,000 and thats a lot of fast money. It appears likely he obtains ego gratification from this activity. He has quite a large following with numerous people advertising his services (free of charge) on internet forums.

Do people in similar roles have psychopathic tendencies? Do people in similar roles have a perverse enjoyment? These are questions that need to be asked.
