Gang Gang
Gang Gang Cockatoos - Callocephalon
fimbriatum
Gang Gangs
tend to visit during Autumn and Winter to take advantage of the seed crops
from a number of deciduous and evergreen trees. Liquidambar and Cypress are
particular favourites.
The male has
the bright red/orange head while the female has the pinkish markings on her
breast. Again, immatures tend to look like females.
Gang Gangs
eat Cotoneaster, a plant that provides food for a number of parrot species
in winter, showing that even serious environmental weeds can have some use
although on balance.
