Past Players Luncheon

All past players and partners are invited to help celebrate the 20 year reunion of the 1989/90 A-Turf Premiership Side and the 10 year reunion of the 1999/2000 LOC 1 Premiership Side.
The date is Saturday 28th November at the Burwood Cricket Club Social Clubrooms from 12:30pm. The cost is $45 a couple or $25 per person which will include a two course meal and drinks will be at bar prices.

The Burwood Cricket Club have 10 Junior sides for Season 2009/10, four are Under 10's, two Under 12's, two Under 14's and two Under 16's. Fixtures for all Juniors sides are now listed in the links at the bottom of this page. We like to wish all teams the best of luck and have a great fun season at Burwood Cricket Club.

New Recruits Required For Season 2009/10

Burwood Cricket Club is looking for new members to join up and help strengthen our depth to strive for further success. Our First XI Side needs strengthening in order to compete and fight our way to get back into Dunstan Shield.
We are looking for players of a reasonable standard and of any age that can help to get to where we want to be.
The club has a new Captain/Coach who actively oversee the development and the fine tuning of players to help achieve their own personal, team and club goals.
If you are interested in being a part of a successful club and want to take up the challenge of help lifing a club back into Dunstan Shield then come and join us.

New Captain/Coach Announcement

The Burwood Cricket Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Baker as Club Coach and Captain for Season 2009/10. Captain of Spencer Cricket Club in the Surrey Championship Premier Division, Neil was highly recommended by Burwood C.C. legend and Spencer C.C. team-mate Jimmy Birt.
Neil is a top order batsman and wicketkeeper who also has experience in the E.C.A. having previously played in Dunstan Shield with North Balwyn where he made 500+ runs.
Planning for the coming season is already under way with Neil looking to hit the ground running upon his arrival in Melbourne in mid-September.
On behalf of All Players, Supporters and members at the Burwood Cricket Club, we wish Neil every success for the coming year and urge everyone involved to get behind him 100% as we look to win back our spot in Dunstan Shield.

Senior & Junior Training

Senior training nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5pm (6pm when daylight savings is in).

Tuesday night sessions are for specific coaching requierments for the players. A variety of training drills are organised to help teach and refine each players skills in batting, bowling and fielding.

Thursday nights are purely batting, bowling, catching and fielding sessions. Players will be set up into groups and rotate around to each drill in preparation for the weekends matches.

Juniors training nights are Tuesdays for the under 14's and under 16's and all other teams on Wednesdays starting at 4:30pm.
The junior coach who overseas all junior teams will assist with the individual team managers in structuring the sessions to teach and help the young Tiger Cubs the skills of the game.
