Flora and FaunaFern Gully Nature Walk and the Tarra Valley Rainforest Walk provide an introduction to the cool temperate rainforest of Tarra-Bulga National Park. Ferns are one of the main attractions, some 39 species having been recorded. There are more than 200 different kinds of fungi. The Park is an excellent place to see many birds, including the unique Lyrebird and others such as the Pilot Bird, Crimson Rosella and Yellow Robin. It is also rich in native mammals, many of them nocturnal. Wallabies and wombats are common, and platypuses, possums, bandicoots and native rats live in the Park. There are also seven species of bats and the Park is home to numerous reptiles and countless insects.
