certificates will be presented the week after the record was broken.

An
engraved commemorative centre medallion will be awarded to the boy and
girl champions for each
event category (click to view) in each
age group. A runner-up medal will also be presented.
The recipients of the medals are determined by the number of points
achieved by a child within an
event category. The children with
the highest & second highest number of points are awarded the champion
& runner-up medals respectively.
Only the best three results during the season in a particular event
are awarded points. The points are determined by comparing each
of the three results to a standard VLAA table of achievement for the
age group. These points are accumulated giving a total for the
event and, where an
event category comprises more than one event, the
points for each event in the category are tallied. |

Each little athlete, regardless of the number of times they have
attended during the season, will receive a colour coded certificate
detailing the performance level that they have achieved during the
season for each
event category.
The colours, in order of lowest to highest achievement, are Green,
Red, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The level is determined by
comparing the best result achieved in an
event category with a
standard performance table. |

1. One point for each event an athlete participates in during
the season.
2. One point for each time an athlete equals or betters their Personal
Best (PB) performance during the season.
3. One point each time a member of the family (ie. parents,
grandparents or adult siblings) acts as an official during programmed
days for the first 10 days.
4. Two points each time a member of the family acts as an
official during programmed days if the family has already officiated
on 10 programmed days.
Note: Where a family has more than one registered little athlete, each

The Frank
Dunphy Memorial Trophy
| The Frank Dunphy Memorial Trophy is a
perpetual award in honour of the late Mr Frank Dunphy, a tireless man who
helped set up the Brighton Little Athletics Centre. It is awarded each
year to
one boy and one girl from the centre. It is especially designed to
acknowledge children who are enthusiastic triers. In particular, to be
eligible, a child must not have won any other end of season award. It
is intended for those children who regularly participate and consistently
improve. To qualify for this award, an athlete
must also have participated at the Centre for at least three seasons. |
| |
The Ray
Parry Award - Champion Club
| The Ray Parry
Award is a perpetual award that was instituted in the 1996/1997 season to
recognise the past efforts and continuing contributions of Mr Ray Parry.
It is awarded at the end of each season to one of Brighton's Clubs. It
is based on the number of times a Club's registered little athletes break
their personal bests. The winning club is the one with the highest
tally across all age groups. |
