Handicap Challenge Day  This coming Saturday 19th January our regular competition resumes with a great fun program of events where athletes times & distances are adjusted (handicapped) based upon their season personal best performances.  Ribbons are awarded to the place-getters and everyone has an equal chance to win!

Twilight Program on Friday 25th January don't forget that the following week is a twilight program on Friday (6pm start) due to the Australia Day long weekend.

Region Track & Field (U9-U15 athletes) - Those who missed getting their entries to our Team Manager must email them to Debbie McCann by Thurs 17th Jan.  Click for details and entry forms.  The program follows the same order as the State Program (Track Timetable, Field Timetable) but the times may differ based on the number of entries.  A signed copy of any late entry is to be given/mailed to Debbie by Sat 19th Jan, together with the appropriate entry fee.

State Multi-Event Championships - the same procedure and deadline as above applies for this event.
Sat 1st March - Under 9-11 Boys & Girls + Under 12 Boys (Schedule of Events)
Sun 2nd March - Under 13-15 Boys & Girls + Under 12 Girls (Schedule of Events)

Region U6-U8 Carnival - Sunday 10th February at Dandenong - this is a great fun Carnival, with a mix of competitive and fun events.  Entries close on 22nd January (click for more details and entry forms).  Please let your Club President know if you put in an entry, so families can get together on the day.

Starters' Seminar  - Help our athletes by attending this 3-hour seminar at Frankston conducted by the Chief Starter, Graham Lucas who also has an extensive background as a parent, Centre and Region office bearer.  Click for registration form and details.

Open Days are a great way to gain extra competition and prepare for championships.  Several are coming soon, including Bayside on Sunday 3rd February at Sandringham. Go to our Season Calendar page for details and entry forms.

Be Sunsmart on Saturdays and at Championships and Open Days    With the arrival of the hotter weather, it is even more important that athletes, families and officials look after themselves at all competitions.  We should all remember to bring water bottles, wear sunscreen & bring a hat for when we are in the sun.  It is also wise to consider a light, long sleeve top as extra protection on these days.  This can be a big help for athletes and officials, particularly while waiting or doing duty at field events.

Primary Schools Nationals  As announced, Cameron Menzies and Ian Palackic represented Victoria at the SSA Track & Field Exchange in Launceston before the xmas break and they both brought home medals!  Congratulations, we are very proud of your efforts!!

Coaching Sessions at Dendy Park There have been some recent changes to the times and days and these are now up-to-date on our Coaching page.

State Relay Championships Photos Kids Klix take photos at all Little Aths Championships.  Photos of many of our teams at State Relays are on their website for viewing and potential purchase.  Go to www.kidsklix.com.au, click on the red patch, then on IGA State Relays 2007 and enter "lary0007".  There are some great shots!

Photos from Dendy Park  The Club Presidents are selling a new set of action shots taken at Dendy Park in early December.  The photos are only $2 each and all proceeds from the sales go to your centre.

And in the local paper  U10 Rocket Matthew McLeod featured in the Caulfield Leader this week wearing a range of badges that included his Brighton 63 centre badge - great shot Matthew!

See you at 8:45 on Saturday - remember the sunscreen, hat and water!!
