Coaching
sessions will not be held if the weather or track conditions are
unsuitable. The coaches will try to inform regular
participants of any changes to the normal schedule. Coaching
is available to all registered athletes and is provided at no extra
cost. Sessions cater for athletes at all skill levels and are
completely optional (unless you have committed to be part of a relay
team).
There are several Introduction to
Coaching courses scheduled to
be held each year. If you
would like to attend a course,
details of courses and forms can be found on the
LAVic
Coaching web page. The Introduction to Coaching
(Level 0) courses provide an excellent basis for coaching at little
athletics with a focus on helping young athletes to develop their
skills in all events. There are also some
Level 1 & Level 2 Coaching Courses
scheduled which provide more specialist training for track &
field coaches (click
for more details).
Coaching courses can be attended by parents and will be funded by your
centre provided that you are prepared to help with the coaching duties
on Saturday mornings. The courses are run for
Little Athletics Victoria (LAVic) by the Australian Track &
Field Coaches Association (ATFCA).
This page will be updated as the season progresses.
Please contact
Ian Scott (Coaching Director) if you have any specific
queries.
