David came across from SA in 1989, and has been one of the reliable players at Essendon. He played nearly the whole season in 1990 (barring 2 weeks suspension), but since then and up until 1995, hadn't been able to secure a regular place in the side. In 1995, however, he played nearly every game, and provided Sheedy with another option for the backline or even across the centre. He represented South Australia in 1993, and was selected in the squad for 1995. Injuries were unkind to David in 1996, suffering one injury after another, which meant that he was only able to play one game for the year. Hopefully he can fully recover and play good footy for the Dons in 1997.
