Mark Mercuri, one of the "baby bombers" from 1992, was one of the players that helped Essendon win the 1993 flag. Coming from the Essendon area, Mark was one of the great talent finds for the Dons. He has made a name for himself as a bit of a goal-sneak, when the game is there to be won, he'll be there to put one in from forty metres out, and the Dons will surge. He had a terrific start to 1995, picking up a huge amount of possessions, and also a large number of votes in the various player of the year competitions around. 1996 has been another good year for Mark, up there with the highest possession winners and mark takers at Essendon, and once again kicking his share of goals.
